OSINACHI NWACHUKWU: LINDA ROSE BALA REACTS TO THE SUDDEN DEMISE OF GOSPEL MUSICIAN

The new week broke with the heartbreaking news of the death of gospel musician, Mrs. Osinachi Nwachukwu who, it has been reported, died from complications arising from an alleged case of domestic abuse.

Mrs. Linda Rose Bala spoke to our correspondent and shared her thoughts on the matter, expressing deep sadness over what she termed an unnecessary death.

Find below her statement on the issue:

“Since the news broke out on the death of Gospel musician, Mrs. Osinachi Nwachukwu, I have been filled with so much pain and despair as a result of the alleged cause of her death and the treatment she received in her marriage. Her death has thrown up, once again, the need for us all to do more to eliminate domestic violence. We all must speak up when we come to know of such cases; we must support and encourage victims of domestic violence to come forward, speak up and take a stand against their oppressors. We must have a support system for them when they have the courage to walk away from abusive marriages. We must provide safe houses to shelter and protect them until they can find their feet. We must stop this culture of silence which enables aggressors to ultimately kill their victims.

Osinachi’s death is one death too many. It is quite unfortunate that the voice of such a nightingale was abruptly and eternally halted by the cold hands of death in controversial circumstances. My heart bleeds.

While l say “rest in peace” to our sister, l call on law enforcement agencies to take all the action required to thoroughly unravel the true cause of her death and further ensure that justice is not only done but seen to be truly done.”

I also call on the Police and the relevant State Welfare departments to check in on her children to give them the necessary care they need at this time. They too need to be evaluated as they are likely witnesses to and victims of the ugly state of affairs that allegedly led to their mother’s sad demise.
