Dear elders, officers and members of NBA Owerri branch, I received with great sorrow the news of the demise of customary court inspector, Odera Onumajulu, a member of your branch, who sustained gunshot injuries during a kidnap attack on May 22 in Owerri. I understand she sadly passed away on Wednesday after medical personnel battled for one month to save her.😔
This sad case once again brings to the fore the precarious security situation in the country! It is so sad that government now seems helpless as the citizenry are butchered everyday! Something really must be speedily done about the terrible state of insecurity in the nation and I call on the government to carry out its responsibilities in this regard! This case is one too many and the usual rhetorics we hear when these things happen do not assuage our pain or loss!
My condolences go to the Branch and her family, especially her recently widowed mother, whom I understand is also our colleague of the NLS Class of 2005. Please be consoled my sister. There really are no words at this time as I know how great your pain and grief must be! Only God can take your pain away. The loss of a child is never easy!
NBA Owerri, please accept my sympathies on your loss. NLS Class of 2016, please be strong.
I also condole with the Customary Court of Appeal where late Odera Onumajulu, worked as a customary court inspector.
May Odera Onumajulu rest in peace and may her murderers be caught and made to face the full wrath of the law.
MRS. BALA, LINDA ROSE
